Good move by the Astros and great for him personally, but I am rather upset that his work is going to be hidden from view from the masses.

If the name doesn't ring a bell he did the work on pitch framing and how the velocity off the bat effects BABIP.

I would rather they had ended up with KLaw if it was one or the other.

This is exactly my reaction. Fast has been responsible for some very important work as far as translating the game of baseball into statistics, and everything he's published in the last several months at least has been groundbreaking. He's on the cutting edge for sure, and quite honestly I wish it was the Orioles who got him.
