Hey Flaherty had a two single game the other day! He's turning the corner!

Right. I love the defense the kids has provided this year, but I saw nothing in his approach that would indicate that. If he started letting the ball travel and try to go opposite field instead of hack everything he might start having games like he did the other day. It's not his hits that are indicative it's the outs. Weakly rolling over balls on the outer half that can be driven the other way is a problem with how he approaches that particular AB. The problem is he does have decent power but it may be giving him delusions of grandeur on what the possibilities hold for him at this level.

Lets keep him in front of a guy who has shown power in his limited time though. Hey, the situation I mentioned probably never comes up.

Deck chairs right?

Actually, he had 2 hits in back-to-back games:

And the first pair (of hits) were against Justin Verlander, too.

He may not be turning a corner, but he is 4-for-9 with only 1 strikeout in his last 2 games.

There's no one else I'd rather see do it. That would allow us to plug Roberts in as the DH. I'm going to see more than 9 ABs.

Against a righty it's not necessarily the wrong batting order.

Have you seen his career splits vs RH? I'm not sure it even matters against a flutterer, but I'm tired of that line of thinking anyway. I can see it at the top of the order, but I hardly believe managers are burning up their BP options thinking about how they are going to get ol Ryan out.
