Markakis on 2nd, 1 out, Jones at the plate....

We know from looking at his career stats that Adam's walk rate has trended lower.

2008: 4.5%

2009: 6.9%

2010: 3.7%

2011: 4.7%

2012: 4.9%

2013: 3.6%

2014: 2.8%

Clearly, Jones is capable of being more selective than he has been this year. He obviously doesn't think it is a priority to draw walks. His overall production is good so I just live with it.

That does seem like a strong decline, but perhaps its just statistical noise, would have to check walk rate fluctuation across the league to see what is typical. I would be surprised if this is something Adam has simply decided not to work on, given the strong incentives the team, his agent and he himself all have (monetary and otherwise) to improve his performance.

Agreed that just living with it is the best approach.

Uh, I'm pretty sure the Brewers did not exist when Ted was playing baseball. And the Milwaukee Braves, who did exist, were in the National League. Better check your anecdote there.

Yes, this is when Ted was in the minors.
