One is required to ponder on the possible long term implications of such a move.

Obviously the move was not made to keep Flaherty's bat out of the lineup.

BTW I am so over this Davis in RF nonsense.

I disagree with you on Davis a bit, not sure why you care that much but...

I read this lineup and thought to myself..

Buck has cracked. He has completely lost his marbles.

I guess completely imploding and having less than a 10% chance of making the playoffs will do that to a manager....

Because you consider Davis a plus defender in RF?

I was being serious about moving guys to get their minds off their at bats.

That might be what Buck is trying to do.

It looks to me like he wants to sacrifice defense for no clear gain on offense.

Manny at SS is "change for changes sake?"
That is what I said. Yes. Same as putting Davis in RF.

Hopefully this is a huge positive step for the organization.

Use the rest of this year to gauge whether Manny can be a ML SS.

Next year he can move to SS when the O's eventually eat Hardy's contract.

Even if Hardy is able to come back and be a replacement level player, if Manny is proven as a capable backup for SS gives the O's much more roster flexibility next year.

Now let's get Schoop 20 games at 3B while we are experimenting
