He said Bud offered to pitch from the pen tonight.

Dang, you and Roch are quick. I just saw Buck say that. He also said Bud came to him yesterday to tell him he was available. Seems that Bud sees the writing on the wall.

So if Bud(who maybe see's the writing on the wall)pitches tomorrow he wouldn't be ready for his regular turn......:scratchchinhmm:

They don't need him for his regular turn. Either Tillman or Jimenez will pitch on Saturday. Buck also said that Chen's coming back in five days. He did everything he could to say Bud's out of the rotation without saying it.

Why would Norris have to pitch tomorrow when Gausman is going seven strong? Maybe the next time his bash brother Tillman pitches. Know your role Bud.

Hope so. It's July and Gausman hasn't 16 outs in a game yet.

It looks like at the very least Bud will get a few extra days between starts. Here's how it looks to be set up over the next 6 games...

Thursday - Guasman

Friday - Tillman / Jimenez

Saturday - Tillman / Jimenez

Sunday - Gonzalez

Monday - Chen

Tuesday - Gausman or Norris

It's Gausman's spot to earn tomorrow. Will he step up?

o

(vs. WHITE SOX, 7/04)

2.67 innings out 1-run ball of the bullpen.

10 up, 9 down (1 of the strikeouts reached base safely on a dropped 3rd strike.)

3 strikeouts.

1 walk (a lead-off walk in the 8th inning, which eventually came around to score.)

40 Pitches (27 Strikes, 13 Balls.)

And he should have been lifted after the game was tied. Left a tie game with a chance to win. O'Day was fresh, and should have started the eighth. Doesn't excuse the leadoff walk, or O'Day's failure to strand it (like Roe's fail on Thursday.)

Bud was a loser in more ways than one for walking the leadoff hitter in the 9th. A righthanded hitter who isn't any good to boot. He deserves the loss. He looked pretty good but he had to blow it in the end. Buck got outmaneuvered by Ventura there. O'Day's strength is against RH batters and he face 3 straight LH's. Of course, we don't have a good LHP in the pen, so there wasn't a good choice there.

O'Day had no problem with the last two lefties, and he retired some lefties when he stranded the bases-loaded twice. He's our eighth-inning man, and the leadoff hitter was a right-hander. Bring him into the tie game to start the inning, as is the ordinary practice. Bud gave what Buck wanted-he held the White Sox were they were, and gave us a chance to get back into the game. When we did that, that should have been it for Bud.

It is possible to strand a leadoff walk, even after a sacrifice. Just like after a leadoff single, and a sacrifice. Retire the next two hitters.

Did anyone see when O'Day started to warm up? Did he get up only after Manny tied it?, or was he already throwing. I don't get the logic of using him in the middle of the inning. Why not just let him start the inning?

For the love of bacon, release Bud Norris already. He is so awful this year and is hurting this team.

It's only so we can resign him real cheap for his bounceback 2016 season. :thumbsup1:

Seriously though, he had a good year last year, but this is the worst he's ever pitched. Below his averages. Could be a bargain signing, presumably for someone else. He's sadly cost himself a lot of money.
