I feel like we should be better...

1b - Davis, hitting like a stud

2b - Schoop, great power from the position, hitting well

ss - Hardy, excellent defense, ok bat

3b - Machado, on the edge of the MVP conversation

c - Joseph/Wieters, above average from the position

cf - Jones, he's Adam Jones. CF is locked down and is a plus

rf - Parra, we'll see, very good so far this season

lf - Reimold et al... ok, so one hole still really, right here. Everything else is good???

And then we've got a good bullpen with Britton/ODay/Givens/...

So it comes down to the starters (and TIMELY hitting). First Ubaldo/Chen were good and Tillman/Norris were miserable, now we've got Tillman/Gausman mowing them down but Ubaldo/Gonzalez/Chen are kind of falling apart. The pitching needs to get consistent, and the hitting needs to stop going into slumps, but it's really a good team....

They probably should. Good run differential. Pretty similar to last season. A big difference is last year they were 2nd in offensive WPA and 4th in pitching WPA. This year they are 12th and 14th.

Also they seem to get robbed of a home run pretty much once a week. It's unbelievable. No luck at all this year.

Sorry, but if you think THIS team is bad, you're in for a sad reckoning. Next year with no Davis, Wieters, Chen, as disappointing as Wieters and Chen have been, we will be a lot worse. We will have lost a ton of power and pitching and won't spend much money to fix it.

I never said they were bad. They just gave too many games away they should have won in the 1st half. Their a bit better than .500 but that's not going to be good enough.
