Man, I hate this. I can't stand Ortiz.

We'll be OK, Jon.

This is a very bad, depressing game, but it's just one game.

We'll get back on track tomorrow.

The Orioles NEVER take games with them to the next day. If they have 2 bad games in a row, it sure as hell isn't because of the "momentum" from the previous game with Buck Showalter running the show.

Tomorrow is another day, and the score will be 0-0 when the game starts. :)

5-0, 6-0, 7-0 ...... a loss is a loss, is a loss, is a loss.

If that slow roller infield-single had made the score 2-0 instead of 1-0, I'd be really pissed. It didn't. It made it 7-0 instead of 6-0.

After Gausman got clubbed in the 6th inning, the game was almost out of reach.

When we continued to be a no-show on offense in the 7th and 8th innings, it was out of reach.

Game, Red Sox.

The Orioles can still get "Set, Match" if they win tomorrow, and then again on Sunday.

I got out to my car after work and turned on the radio, and Nolan Reimold was on first base.

So I have listened to, then watched, 8 innings of no-hit baseball by the Os.

I want to see a hit!!!

      So it’s better to have a top 50 prospect sitting on the bench versus guys that could actually fill a role and be a late game sub?  Keep in mind that they were good enough for two of the best teams in MLB last year.  This fan base is becoming entitled. I guess for the bullpen it’s Mason Miller/Josh Hader or bust.

      8/210 isn’t getting him. Thats just offer 26M a year. I said I would go 5/200. Go big on the AAV and lower on the years, in hopes to get 2-3 very good to elite years. If Im doing 5/200, it would be hard to not do 8/210.

      It's a bit of a hot take, admittedly. We'll see. Mullins is having a weird season. He's got 6 bombs and 6 steals, which checks out with peak Mullins, but then he also has sub-.300 OBP and a .709 OPS. He's got a .310 OPS vs LHP.  So, is he hurting the team by being out there vs LHP, or is his defense making up for it? I'm not really sure which is more true right now. But if the team is looking for ways to get Hays ABs, that's one avenue they could explore.

Looking at wOBA vs. xwOBA, the ridiculous stat is that even at .403 wOBA (3rd best on the team), Ryan O'Hearn is underperforming his xwOBA by 99 points.   He's just been hitting the ball on the nose at a ridiculous rate. On defense, there are some major disagreements between Rdrs (which feeds into rWAR) and OAA (which feeds into fWAR).  Rdrs rates Mountcastle at +1 while OAA has him at -3; Holliday is at -1 Rdrs and +3 OAA; and Cowser is at 0 Rdrs and +3 OAA.   I must say, my "eye test" is more in agreement with Rdrs than OAA in all three cases.  (Note: there is no OAA for catchers, so I'm using Fangraphs' overall defense metric there for Rutschman and McCann.) It will be interesting to follow the ups and downs of the players as the season progresses.
