No David Price, Thank You

Talent wins. Talented pitching helps. Since the Orioles haven't drafted and developed talented starting pitchers the caliber of David Price since Mike Mussina, FA and trades are the only other means available to acquire that kind of talent. And if you trade for a quality starter you probably have to pay him too.

But don't put FA in the line up, but Hobgood and Bundy aren't anchoring your rotation next year, and Chen won't either. Maybe the O's can trade for a 20 game winner. Jones for Arrieta?

I was thinking Harvey for Britton, but maybe we can lower our sights to a 16 game winner?

The OP is hilarious because it assumes we'll be a playoff team or something.

Exactly.

The Orioles were fortunate to salvage a .500 season, and their biggest problem by far was the starting pitching.

They're not exactly in a position to be turning up their noses up at solid starting pitchers, regardless of how they have performed in the postseason.

It's very tough to see the man in the center field stands when it's packed and everyone is wearing the same colors.

"While I was in spring training with the … You know what, I’m not going to tell you. Too many potheads still in action there. Let’s just say that while I was in spring training with a certain organization, a group of guys on the team got robbed. They were all staying in a house together, splitting the rent through the course of the spring, their luxury rides all parked out front in a row, leaving at the same time every day. It wasn’t hard for the local criminal element to figure out who they were and the schedule they kept. When these criminals decided to hit the house, they made off with all manner of high-end accessories, televisions, gaming systems and other tech toys.

What didn’t make the news was the other stuff that got taken. I may have been naive enough to believe the news reports, but then you start to hear things on the locker-to-locker information superhighway. First, one of the guys really liked his firearms and had a couple of automatic assault rifles, including some AK-47s. Next, a large collection of porno DVDs had gone missing. Finally, the pillow-case-sized bag of weed that had been sitting on the kitchen table, next to its accoutrements. All of it gone, none of it reported."

Lou Montanez was a excellent writer as well, have no idea what happened to him. At least he got a nice signing bonus.

Oh yes, Price, hopefully he doesn't get another start in the playoffs and I don't have to hear how much of a genius Gibbons is. Go all Texas teams in the AL.

Is anyone else shocked that Gallardo speaks English without an accent? My mind has never been so blown in my existence on this Earth. Granted, he went to HS in Texas, but he was born in Mexico. Heck, I still speak with a North Dakota accent, and I've been in Baltimore half my life.

During the '83 World Series, a reporter asked Tippy Martinez a question in Spanish. Tippy had to tell him he didn't speak Spanish.

No no David Price wouldn't help us in any way.... It's all about his postseason record and how awesome our pitchers are in the regular season and postseason [emoji19]

It's silly to not want a David price, would we also say no to Kershaw?

Hey, at least he doesn't cost a pick. I am in favor.

I'd like to have the guy, but his post-season failures would make me hesitant to throw a king's ransom at him.

His post season "failures" would increase my interest. I'm always intrigued by players whose price might come down for reasons that might be totally irrelevant or nonexistent. Price's so-called issues are the baseball equivalent of First World Problems. "Oooh... he's had a few bad starts in the playoffs after he's played prominent roles in getting his teams to October almost every year. No way I'd want him around. My other issues include that my BMW M5 is slightly less reliable than average, and the maintenance on my $1.7M mansion is a bit higher than I'd like."

Bud was big for us in DET and beat Price straight up (although Price pitched very well that day, just gave up a 301 ft Nelson Cruz HR just inside the foul pole). Bring back "big game" Bud!!!!
