THE FIRST 3/4 OF THE SEASON:

oooooooooooo 60-62

THE FINAL 1/4 OF THE SEASON:

oooooooooooo 27-12

The Mets lost their final game of the regular season, though it mattered not ...... they had already clinched home-field advantage in the Wild Card playoff game the day before.

Similar to the Orioles, the Mets lost a low-scoring Wild Card playoff game on a 3-run home run in the final inning.

As to their season overall ........

They lost Matt Harvey for the season in early July (and he was pitching injured for much of the season prior to that.)

The lost Jacob deGrom for the season on September 1st.

The lost Steven Matz for the season in August.

They again missed Zack wheeler for the entire season, as he had complications in his recovery from Tommy John surgery.

That left Syndergaard, Colon, and a few young fill-ins for their rotation in the latter part of the season. All things considered, they were able to salvage a solid, winning season, in spite of those injuries and their lack of offense.

If Harvey, deGrom, Matz, and Zack Wheeler can come back healthy in 2017, they probably have a good chance to be a contender again.

Yep, I'd assume so too
