What is the definition of stranding base runners in this context? If there is a runner on and someone hits into an inning ending DP, technically there are ZERO runners left on base. But if stranding is defined as # of baserunners minus number of runs scored, then that might count as 1 runner stranded.

And I do believe we are way better than the average team at turning DPs. Very good infielders, great arms at 2B-SS-3B, a great 2bman at turning the pivot, and a first baseman who is excellent at digging out wild throws and keeping his foot on the bag.

So if erasing guys on DPs improves your strand rate, than our superior DP-getting ability might be part of the reason we excel at stranding.
