So with Walker gone, give us your OF for Baltimore and Norfolk:

Baltimore

  • Michael Bourn
  • Adam Jones
  • Hyun Soo Kim
  • Joey Rickard
  • Anthony Santander
  • Seth Smith
  • Aneury Tavarez

Norfolk

  • Dariel Alvarez
  • Michael Choice
  • Chris Dickerson
  • Craig Gentry
  • Logan Schafer
  • Mike Yastrzemski

Who goes?  We can assume Santander to the DL I think,

Santander played today.  Can they still play the DL game with him if he's able to swing the bat competitively?

I'll say they carry 14 position players until April 15.

Jones, Kim, Smith, Rickard, Gentry, and Santander.

Alvarez, Schaffer, Yaz, Dickerson.  Maybe Choice.  Washington will be in there.

Certainly not an intra-squad game. I don't know if playing in a real ST game means anything. Or playing at Twin Lakes.

Oh, it's not a game. Just like Almanzar at one time. Not healthy enough to be competitive at the MLB level. This is rehab.

The name just popped into my head. Frickin' Steeler fans. Win 4 Super Bowls, and everyone jumps on the bandwagon.

After the Steelers won that 4th Super Bowl in the 1979 season, they did not win another one for more than a quarter of a century (the 2005 season.)

If those bandwagon Steelers fans jumped on in the 1970's when the franchise was at its height, they sure held on through thick and thin for a long time afterward.

I jumped on the Orioles bandwagon in October of 1971, when they were in the World Series against the Pirates. They're still my team.

This trade makes the bullpen stronger and the left handed pitching depth stronger all at the cost of our number 4 or 5 first baseman or our 8th or 9th outfielder.

Seems like another solid offseason move from Dan.

Inch by inch, brick by brick...

Walker showed average and power early in his minor league career and was a top five prospect for us just a few years ago. Walker hit: .301 .367 .516 .884 in Bowie as a 23 year old.  Three years later and he's completely off the radar.

I really think Norfolk does something to hitters.  What if he had spent the last two years in the PCL? I can see him getting a chance with another big league team and providing some value as a platoon first baseman/outfielder in the Steve Pearce mold.
