Honestly?

That you need to understand how math works.

The O's, as currently configured, would not have a high enough success rate to lead to an increase in runs scored.

A team's most precious commodity is outs. Instead of a clock you have outs. Outs should be treasured, not given away.

So like every other team in the majors is wrong?

As far as the O's are concerned it would be interesting, though I wouldn't know how to compute it, to see the cumulative odds of any O's position player successfully stealing a base against, the odds of hitting a HR. My guess is the HR odds are much better.

Here is a mathematical equation...Rickard is 80% successful at stealing bases and he is just learning. Let's hear some of our home run ratios, since it's all about math.

:D just having fun with you guys.

When was Joey Rickard a major league to have real stats that you can actually talk about? Just having fun with you. And he's not young. He's not learning anything. But he is part of the team and he's an ok part of a platoon.

You have to look at their career SB % and then combine them. But it should be obvious that if CD is on base then the likely hood of him stealing a base is less than the likely hood of Trumbo AB hitting one out. Rickard is the only guy on the team who is a good base stealing threat and he doesn't play that much. Why would you want anyone else to do it?
