His bat has a legitimate impact bat potential. If he was more athletic and had better defensive skills, he probably would have gone higher in the draft. Saying that, he's a great draft pick and i think he's going to have  nice major league career. I just doubt it will include playing 3B effectively.

Its just we keep drafting one dimensional position players. Maybe I am just being too harsh.

Schoop wasn't even drafted.

Mancini was an eighth round pick.  What are your expectations for an eighth round pick?

Norfolk: Yaz, Susac, Luis Gonzalez, Rickard, Stewart, Sisco, Rogers, Hart, Phillips, Yacabonis, Valera, Wilkerson

Bowie: Joseph, Diaz, Hays, Lee, Kline, Mountcastle

These are players that should be considered. Lots of 40 man roster concerns. You probably won’t see us add guys that won’t need to be protected for next year’s rule 5 draft. Some of these guys might actually get released. Like Hart. 

Also, if Norfolk makes the playoffs then that could delay things. Doubt we see all these guys up.

I think once we reset the 40 man roster this winter, I do not think it will be that easy to write down 6 plus names we can  drop at one time as listed above.

I'm hoping they let him go and sign Iglesia. Iglesia, a defensive specialist, will help the pitchers and improve the overall team speed. Having him, Mullins, and Villar will be a nice defensive upgrade up the middle. Iglesia is pretty much the only FA that I would splurge on and I don't think he will cost too much.

Mancini  was an afterthought draftpick available because of his age and singular tool.
