Is it now safe to say that Dan will be returning?

Now that the news has broke that Buck won't be returning, is it safe to say that Dan will be returning? I realize that the Orioles have not publicly announced yet that Buck is not returning. However, wouldn't the media have announced today that Dan is not returning when they broke the news about Buck? Thoughts?

Great question.   I wonder if the possibility of a team sale plays into this at all?

EDIT:  Also, does Dan's job require him to be on staff through October?   I'm wondering if there are some administrative things he needs to wrap up.

I don't think it's "safe to say". I think it's a coin flip. The more important firing (that has to happen) is Brady. Banish him to Exile Island and never let him set foot in Baltimore again.

I think Dan stays at least until Mesa makes his decision on who to sign with.  After that, who knows.

I would love if if everyone went and Dan was the only one left. Even better if he survives a team sale. I’ve always appreciated his vision and ability to think out of the box to bring in talent even with everyone in the org working against that. I’d love to see what he could do with less oversight. Or smarter oversight.

According to Rosenthal, Duquette is expected to be fired, too. Probably happen right after VVM signs with the Marlins is my guess.
