Best case scenario for me (and I would think most of us). It will be a lot easier to follow Manny and be proud of him / happy for him on an NL West team than it would have been had he ended up with the Yankees or Red Sox (neither of which were all that likely, but still). I probably won't give him much more thought personally, but I am happy to know that he signed with a team that is about as far from Baltimore as it gets, both geographically and on the rivalry spectrum.

I'd direct this sentiment at the contingent of writers who appear to be itching for a players strike before I would direct it at the players themselves FWIW.
