There was a reason.

The reason being that the only reasons to keep Davis around are the sunk cost fallacy and to appease the owner's parents.  Neither one of which is reasonable.

Sadly it isn't surprising that this is still happening.

I thought he was referencing the altercation as a reason.

I agree that it is pointless to allow him to suit up on a daily basis.
