It’s worth mentioning, I guess, that the Mariners and Phillies are also likely to break the record for HR allowed, though we are far ahead of them.

The Angels could tie...the old record.  SEA and PHI are 31 and 41 behind, so, technically ,they won't be breaking any records as the O's will set a new mark before they get to 258.

NY is on pace to hit 284 HRs AND give up 254.

Six more HR allowed tonight...229 HR allowed for the season, only 29 more to go.  I'll take Friday, August 23 against Tampa Bay.  David Hess (come on, it HAS to be David Hess) will give up HR 259 to Avisail Garcia in the 6th inning.

I'm hoping Hess is no longer here by then.  I think that's hoping for a lot, but he's a great candidate to give it up.

I'm waiting to see how many they give up tonight before making my prediction.

More records falling...Averaging 3.5 HRs/game given up to NY

Quote

The staff has allowed 234 homers, including 52 to the Yankees, a major league single season record by one opponent.

Quote

The 16 home runs in a three-game series ties the record held by the 1977 Red Sox.

That stat seemed weird to me. Thanks for this.

Phew! So we're not THAT bad!  And the O's have hit four a few times right?  Friday,  no homers and today a mere one!

Dodged a bullet today.  Those NY lollygaggers "only" hit 4.   3 more games for them to add on.

245 surrendered for the season.

Torres    11
Sanchez    9
Frazier    6
Maybin    4
Tauchman    3
Romine    3
Volt    3
Urshela    3
Higashioka    2
LeMahieu    2
Gardner    2
Judge    2
Gregorius    2
Tulowitzki    1
Estrada    1
Bird    1
Ford    1
total    56

This entire list is ridiculous, but the worst are Torres, Frazier, Maybin, and Romine.  I think they have each hit around 50% of their homers against us.

The Nation is watching

https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/mlb-scores-schedule-orioles-set-al-record-for-most-most-home-runs-allowed-in-a-season/

"And that means the Orioles have now allowed 245 home runs this season, a new AL record. It took them just 118 games to set that record. Oh, and 56 of those 245 home runs belong to the Yankees. Need more? OK: Thirty-two different Oriole pitchers this season have allowed at least one home run. Nine Oriole pitchers have allowed at least 10 home runs, including Tom Eshelman who's given up 10 in just 31 innings.

Looking ahead the MLB record for home runs allowed in a season belongs to the 2016 Reds, who permitted 268. Obviously, the current Orioles model is on pace to surpass that figure by quite a bit."

Ruth and Gehrig both hit 11 HRs vs the 1927 RedSox, in 22 games.   Torres 13, Sanchez 9 in 17 games.    That's how absurd the HR milestones are this year.

17 games vs NY, number of games where the Yanks did not hit a HR....
Let's see...carry the one...calculating....

How mad is Frazier that he’s in AAA while these guys are in crushing it?
