The A's have actually been somewhat respectable since June of last year. The White Sox just got their 10th win yesterday, making them an abysmal 10-28, but that doesn't look so bad compared to the 10-45 start Oakland got off to last year. Chicago would have to lose their next 17 games to match that. -

Lack of a position is hurting Kjerstad, but I really hope he stays and McKenna goes down for Hays. -

It’s not October yet. We’re on pace for 107 wins even with the Kimbrel blown saves. We’re only asking our SP to go 90-100 pitches so of course we’re going to be relying on our bullpen a ton. Heck, they’re covering 33% - 40% of the outs even on a “good” night for the SP. So yeah, outside of Kimbrel, they’ve been really good. -
Because there is no obvious successor to Mountcastle from a fielding perspective. They just want as many options as possible. I think we all think Mayo or Kjerstad ends up at first, but maybe the Orioles have concerns about both as fielders? Or maybe they just want a 4th OF with some additional flexibility. -
If Irvin keeps it up, I probably push Means to the pen. He is a free agent. Why would you cater to him vs the guys that are going to be here?
