Total 180 from how he looked in 2017.

I saw him make a really great catch at a game I attended in 2017.   Playing RF, ran flat out and made a leaping backhand catch crashing into the scoreboard.   He’s fearless.   Maybe too fearless, to be honest.

I was speaking more overall.  I can see how you wouldn't take it that way with me quoting you.  Sorry I was unclear.

Yeah, his 2017 debut was a real buzzkill.   Ironic that this time he’s looked fantastic after a mediocre MiL season.

“What if” is a depressing game to play, but one cannot help wondering how the story of the year would be different if Hays had  been healthy all season.

So..they'd have a handful more wins, at most? The season would have been more purely fun to watch just from a youth and entertainment standpoint, but it wouldn't have meant much the overall record.

Perhaps but there’s such a ripple effect when your CF is an outstanding defender. Fewer pitches, less fatigue, less bullpen exposure, etc etc. yeah probably not that many extra wins, but 52 is better than 50, and 57 is better than 52.

Great talent but an injury waiting to happen.   That diving is likely to put him on the IL.

I mean, that was the knock on him in his stellar 2017 season, and it was a legitimate concern, he plays with a reckless abandon. Hoping he can rein it in a bit and pick his spots.
