Am I the only one who is glad he got bombed?  Don't want to see this guy in the rotation, whoever the season starts.

Before getting bombed, his line was very good: 8 IP, 4H (2HR), 2ER, 6K, 1BB

Being prone to the big inning is his biggest problem which he may or may not be able to overcome. It's not like he never pitches well, he does at times which is why he's still here. It's just a question of can he find a way to settle himself down when he gets into these situations. He shouldn't be throwing anything straight, that's for sure.

I wouldn't say I was glad, but it was nice to get confirmation that he didn't find some magical way of finding consistent success with a right-handed 85 mph fastball. 

It's just not gonna play in the bigs over a long stretch. But he does seem like a guy who can come up and flummox a team for an emergency start here and there.

Poor Eshelman.   If the shutdown had occurred one day sooner he still might be considered a frontrunner for the 5th starting job whenever/if they resume and begin the season.
