Wow! We are close to the #4 and #5 spot! :clap3: Maybe we will get another Good pick because of small market teams not willing to spend money.

#4 is unlikely, but #5 is a real possibility, as we are technically one game 'back' of Atlanta. We'll see, but having Aaron Crow added to the pool helps the overall depth of the early first round.

The sixth pick sounds nice, but even if we finish with the sixth worse record we coud pick 8th. If we end with the 8th worse record, we could find end up picking 11th. The game with the A's on a Sunday could have been really important. We lose a lot of Sunday and for the draft we sure could have used another lost.

Pick 1 Mariners

Pick 2 Nationals

Pick 3 2A Pirates for not signing Alvarez

Pick 4 3A Royals for not signing Hosmer

Pick 5 Padres

Pick 6 Pirates

Pick 7 Braves

Pick 8 Orioles

Pick 9 7th worse record

Pick 10 9A Nationals for not signing Crow

Two top prospects are added to the draft and the Royals will likely take Hosmer again. The Priates have two top 6 chioces and I doult they will take Alvarez again.

Nobody knows how the Alvarez situation is going to play out and it likely involves Hosmer for the time being.

So we just fell below Atlanta.

I think that is where we will end up, with the 5th pick.

Nobody knows how the Alvarez situation is going to play out and it likely involves Hosmer for the time being.

Under that scenario, SD would pick 4th and KC 5th, as San Diego gets the third choice in the draft... KC gets pick 3A, meaning they pick after the #3 team (SD).

But like you said, if that's the case, players like Hosmer and Alvarez would go back into the player pool (in addition to Crow), so in the end it doesn't really affect the Orioles.

(Unless Hosmer and Alvarez are no longer considered top players for whatever reason.)

We all know that you can only score 4 runs on a grand slam. Yesterday, Saturday, 20th, draft hopefuls got a grand slam plus one: O's lost; Braves, Reds, Royals, Pirates won. Gaining 5th position from Braves; putting some distance between us and Reds & Royals, who have won 8 out of their last 9 !! Sights dead ahead on Pirates in 4th position.

This is what it has come to mean being an O's fan in Sept :o

Hope Braves win today so when we beat MFY in the last game in "The House That Ruth Built" it will be a sad day for both NY baseball teams.

Everyone knows about Ruth & Baltimore. Extra salt in wound; "Google" NY Highlanders (re:1901; 1903)
