He did, but as the Orioles' announcer asserted, only in the Oakland Coliseum is that an out ...... there's far more foul territory room there than in any other MLB stadium.

The Orioles announcer's suggestion to fake the throw to 1st base, and then throw home ...... mildly reminiscent of Manny Machado's "Don't throw it away, don't throw it at all !!!" play, from his Rookie season.

The announcers keep talking about the "Orioles' defense." That's meaningless. The Orioles have a very good OF defense, a very bad IF defense, and terrible defense at catcher. I don't see how you can lump those things together.

Franco spun around after getting the grounder then couldn't get the ball out of his glove. Then Mancini took the throw to first saw the runner heading home and he also couldn't get the ball out of his glove.
