Catcher is the one position where we could hide a position player next year. Put these guys really that much worse than what we have signed now?  Once AR gets here, they will be used in a once a week, maybe twice a week role. That’s ideal for a rule 5. 
 

We’re not winning anything next year so why not try and pick up a cheap, long term back up for AR?  Not a lot of catching depth in our system above A ball.

I can’t believe the Os won’t have a rule 5! Honestly, might have lost a couple of guys but man, that Red Sox guy sounds good, they should reach out and offer something lol.

Agreed. But not a fan of Os approach (both Elias & under Buck). Go high ceiling if you are tanking. Russell Martin was a great pick, likely didn’t work but that’s the kinda guy you take, not the Flahertys of the world.
