Raise your hand if you think Watkins was a better choice than Bradish?

Rays just called up 31 years old Dusten Knight best known for his back flip.   Rays must be tanking.

The Rays have a long track record of success that Elias doesn't have. I'm willing to assume they know what they're doing, Elias hasn't earned that yet.

Why does it depend on this season?  So, if things aren’t great this year, you are ok with punting 2023 too?

Didn’t say punting.  I would have liked to see some more significant upgrades this past offseason, as I’ve mentioned.   But I think the extent of spending next offseason depends on (1) how many big holes there are to fill and (2) the competitive state of the team.   I will certainly be in favor of doing more than we did this offseason in any event.

For example, the question of what should be done to shore up pitching and the infield depends to a degree on how various players do this year, both in the majors and the minors.

If that's the case than maybe some of our posters will decide to start questioning the rebuild!

No doubt! Count me as one of the impatient ones.  It shouldn't take more than 5 yrs to rebuild if you have a cognizant plan. Plus it's also not a given that our prospects are going to be any good. Even if they are highly rated "The proof is in the pudding" as they say. The only way we'll know is if the ones that are deemed ready face ML competition.

This issue that's being brought up is we're in year four and Spenser Watkins is starting game five, Odor is the starting 2B against right-handers, and they have no good left-handed power stick on the roster despite having a short RF porch.

I've been a supporter of how Elias was rebuilding but this year is making me concerned by the lack of step forward.

I feel like I’m in the middle on this one. I do think it’s important for the orioles to show progress this year. I’m just more concerned with what August/September look like then April. Spencer Watkins starting the 125th game of this season, will bother me a lot more then him stating the 5th.

This is where I’m at too.
