I wonder how much the Carter Young signing dictated whether they would go into the 5% area.   That hasn’t worked out so well.

Can’t know that yet.  He could have some trade value. Willems was awful last year.

Big difference between a HS 18-19 yo struggling at Delmarva and a 22 year old coming from a major college program.   Young has actually gone from total bust to just plain disappointing.   He could still surprise but the odds on him being a top 20 prospect are pretty low.

If I did the spreadsheet correctly, the O's spent  $11,384,800 total on the 2023 draft.  Thats down from well over !9M
