Dan O'Dowd on the MLB panel's phrase to capture that was "there are some holes in his swing".     Westburg, and Elias describing him as a "tooled-up college player" back in the day, was what I was reminded of a little bit.

They announced him OF but he played a lot of 3B in college.

Have you seen enough of Wagner to have an opinion as to whether that is going to end up a worthwhile pick?

It's still early, but I like the plate discipline and he moves well enough to play 2B in my opinion. 

I just think Horvath has a similar type profile offensively and is built similarly. There may be a little more swing and miss with Horvath, but he runs well and may have a little bit more power than Wagner. 

He should be interesting to follow.

Ciolek said the Orioles had “high interest” in Horvath last year.

“I think the first thing that really stands out about his game in general is just how good of an athlete he is,” Ciolek said. “He’s a plus runner, he has a plus arm. He split some time this year between third base and center field, and we’re ultimately going to look to kind of capitalize on his athleticism, give him some reps out in center field but also make sure that he’s also getting reps at third base, as far as versatility is concerned.”

In booth for bottom of the 4th, learned he grew up in Rochester, MN.

Says knew Enrique decently well from USA trials.

Ben set him up with a "Who won College World Series", and Horvath needed a nudge before saying LSU.    My main takeaway from the exchange was Horvath was a little confused by the question, and my guess is he does not know Ben McDonald's character.

I do wonder about any given 21 year old good enough at baseball, and if as a matter of routine they know who say Frank Robinson, Earl Weaver, Ben McDonald, Miguel Tejada, etc. are.
