1.  Moises Chace RHP -  6/9/23 -  Last 3.   13 IP 6 H, 5 walks, 24 strikeouts

2. Deivy Cruz LHP - 2/13/04 Last 3.   13 IP 8 H, 4 walk,  11 strikeouts

3. Edgar Portes RHP - 10/2/02 Since May - 53 IP, 43 H, 18 walks, 70 strikeouts

I think @Frobby also mentioned Luis De León the other day, he had a solid debut with the Shorebirds after earning a promotion on the back of a pretty strong performance at the Complex — his 11.85 K/9 ranked 8th among guys with 20+ innings, as did his K-BB%.

Yep.  Showalter is 19 and I think DeLeon is 20 and both probably could/ should be included in the conversation.   Strength in numbers.

Hitting on a few of these international pitchers is important.  We see how costly and risky pitchers are so capitalizing on any source adds value across the org.  Just like the last few years has been fun watching the development of low risk/high ceiling hitters, it’s great to see the pitchers start clicking now!

Baseball America "10 Breakout Sliders You Need To Know"

Orioles: Edgar Portes, RHP: Signed out of the Dominican Republic in 2019, Portes reached High-A in 2023 after an extended stay in Low-A Aberdeen for most of 2022 and 2023. While his production isn’t exactly noteworthy, he did begin to tack on more innings as the season pressed on. He mixes a hoppy low-90s fastball with a low-80s slider and a changeup. The low-80s slider is his primary pitch and his deadliest weapon. It sits 80-83 mph with ride and sweep generating whiffs on 50% of swings while generating chases and whiffs in-zone. At 20 years old, there’s plenty of runway for Portes due to his signature slider.
