Bryan Baker 40-ish pitches, and two options, plus I don't like taking him to Toronto anyway as he/they seem to rile each other up....hmmm....

On a proper Raysian strong arm barn roster, I don't think he's a 26 weeks a year guy.

Bad night for Elias leverage in his text chains with other GM's.    I wonder if they have much quiet cutthroat veneer, "Oh I see tough night for Wells and Irvin and Baker again..."

It was multiple plays and the difference between winning and losing. The bashing of several Orioles players around here is bizzare. You bashing the 2nd Baseman is like everyone else who bashes Mountcastle.

I think the possibility of repeating that is part of the reason for Elias' inactivity. I think he's concerned about taking the risk that veterans he acquires will flop (or get hurt), at a cost in dollars and young talent.

Maybe Frazier is being showcased for a trade.  Hopefully after the deadline is over he is on another team or regulated to the bench.

I wonder what they do with Wells? I’m not sure Baker goes down tonight. A trade for another RP may do the trick.

If the Rays end up taking the division, it is possible the first 24 + 4 hours of a postseason have texture somewhat like these past 24 + 4 hours.      And for one of the Clubs that could be it.

A team in 1st place doesn’t play someone to showcase a trade.
