I don't love the challenge system that it appears they are going with.   I'd much rather just see it all done with technology.   But even the challenge system is better than we currently have.   No idea if the challenge system is the result of the prep work in question. 

I'm guessing that the challenge system is a compromise with those who don't want catcher framing made entirely irrelevant.  I too would just rather have max accuracy on every pitch.  But something is better than nothing I suppose.

The challenge system is a band aid. Better than the current system, but slows the game down with challenges. It exposes the umpires when they miss a call. The full blown system is seamless and the umpire is still getting paid behind home plate, calling plays at the plate, foul tips, HBP, etc.
