I had no idea the White Sox were this bad!

Most everyone here must know already, but I'm startled to see that at 27-84, .243 the White Sox are firmly on track to do worse than the worst teams since the 1962 Mets: the 2003 and 2019 Tigers (.265, .291) and 2018 O's (.290). What happened over there?!

I heard something yesterday, the White Sox have had a 14 game losing streak and a 16 game losing streak this year. If you take those losses away they would still be the worst team in baseball.

Also, to add insult to injury. A CBA rule states that teams that don't receive competitive balance payouts (like the White Sox) can't draft higher than 10th the year after having a lottery pick.

The assumption being that any team this bad must be "deliberately' tanking?

That comment made me think a few things:

1. He must really like Chicago

2. He must like losing

3. He has the worst agent ever

4. He has no faith in his ability to stay healthy

5. He is solely driven by money

6. He isn't very smart... what is the largest contract ever given out by the White Sox? What about the Dodgers, lol?

7. He isn't very smart #2, does openly stating before being traded that you will only pitch under your terms get you more money? It is like buying a car and then finding out that Chevy isn't going to let you drive it.

This guy could have kept his mouth shut, been traded to a playoff team, and worked a contract with a team that has more money than the White Sox.

The White Sox lose their 20th in a row today, surpassing the 2021 Orioles.   They now have the longest losing streak in the majors since the 1988 Orioles, and are tied for the 3rd longest since 1900.   And tied for the 7th longest ever.  The White Sox now visit Oakland.   A loss Monday would tie the '88 O's.

The number that is hard to actually envision is a seasonal wins total in the 30's.     The '62 Mets got to 40-120.

Baseball is such a numbers game, and brains like pattern recognition...it is like I almost can't see it.

At the trade deadline, Eloy Jiminez went from a team that was 55 games under .500 to one that was 19 games over.   I wonder if anyone has ever picked up that much ground in the standings by being traded before.

I completely forgot the 2021 Orioles lost 19 games. Sheesh that was a long streak. 

Hoping the WSox can break the Orioles 21 game 1988 record. Here's to hoping.
