A lot of you guys are students of hitting. Any idea why Holiday struggled so much to hit MLB level hitting? FWIW, I get that MLB pitchers are better and throw nasty stuff. My question is why a guy who was so successful at such a young age, which means to me that he is exceptionally gifted with the bat in his hands, seemed to be completely lost at the plate? Was it the high leg kick? Was it the overwhelming pressure of expectations? To put it simply, why didn't he hit and will he likely be able to figure it out next year?
Anyone have a nuanced opinion?
Yamamoto and Ohtani seem to have helped their playoff run. I would call that a bit of a shakeup of the lineup on the LAD's part. But they seem like an odd comp for the Orioles.
Correct Cowser has to win AL ROY for the Orioles to get the bonus draft pick. Odds are looking good with Cowser getting this award, but I don't think it's a sure bet like Gunnar winning last season.
It's going to be next to impossible for Game 2 to live up to the 1st one. Good news is it doesn't have to and it still could be great. Just give me another Dodger win.
We were watching This Is The Zodiac Speaking limited series, so my wife asked me to pause in top of 9th and came back later.
Happy with the Game One outcome, ha!
Great little video package, and really glad for Colton.
I think you see a little bit of the mental part that’s still there with him, even in that video celebrating him for his accomplishments. Still too much of his self-image is that kid nobody wanted out of high school. Still doesn’t quite truly believe he belongs on this level, that just being himself is plenty. Don’t need to hit 500 foot bombs and throw 100 MPH lasers and bat 1.000 with men on in order to prove you’re worthy. Just be the really good player you are.
