Wilson has not been good since early May and has allowed five runs in three of the last five starts including the last two. I am not really sure that Wilson has all that much to "turn up" in order to adjust to the league at this point and probably doesn't have a ceiling above that of, say, Rodrigo Lopez. He has done pretty well against Boston, though.

Rodriguez has respectable numbers against the Orioles in four starts, but is only three starts into the season after an injury delayed him. Since his QS against the Orioles for his 2016 debut, he has allowed nine runs in 10 innings since then with five home runs allowed and four coming in one game against Toronto. He also has seven walks over that span with only four K's.

Steven Wright proved to be almost as dominating as he was when we saw him the first time when we got only two runs, four hits and five walks off of him. This time, we get three runs, six hits and one walk off of him in 7.1 innings. It didn't turn out all that differently this time around as his knuckler continues to be that damn good. On the other side, Gausman lays another egg allowing more than four runs in his third start of the last five, but this is the first time he has not pitched into the fourth inning. Despaigne did well enough and the Orioles were able to hold the Sox to six runs, but the bullpen had to throw five innings. This simply can't hold up over the season and the offense is cooling off and can not be expected to pull off Cinderella stories every night. The Orioles have now lost four of five.

Tyler Wilson has been brought down to earth and has struggled badly over the last five starts as it seems the league has figured him out, but E-Rod is a decent matchup for him since he is coming back from an injury and isn't all there just yet though he did pitch well against the Orioles in his 2016 debut. There could be a lot of runs in this one.

In the division, the tie is reinstated and Toronto crushed the Phils again moving to only two games back of the lead and have one more against Philly tomorrow. It seems Toronto is about to make things really interesting in the East and we may even have a different order 1-3 after we face Toronto for three coming up next.

In the Central, the Royals have won five in a row as they beat Cleveland again completing the revenge sweep and moving into a tie for first place. KC is officially red hot again and remain one of the best teams in the AL. Detroit lost to the White Sox and remain in third two games back and the White Sox 2.5 games back. In the West, Texas is losing to Oakland in the fourth and Seattle just lost to the Rays in the 13th inning in embarrassing fashion as Mike Montgomery came in the game and allowed a one out triple, hit a batter and then walked the next two batters producing the game winning run.

      Was reading Wiggins write up on ESPN. He appears to be more of a home run threat than Koolaid. He had a pick 6 each of the last 2 years.

      Starting point has changed.  Given the fact he has approx 1/7th of his season in the books at 1.139, to OPS just .780 for the season, he'd have to drop off to under .730 the rest of the way.  That sort of drop off wouldn't be acceptable to me. I'd like him to OPS .800 the rest of the way for roughly .850 for the season.  The more they use him in a platoon role, the better I think that number might be.

      I can’t fathom why anyone would want a Tanner Scott return. In 10 innings, he is 0-4 with a 1.78 whip. He was maddening before, and now he’s older. But I wonder if the Red Sox would part with Justin Slaten? He’s been pretty outstanding. Yeah, only 8 innings, but we hired Yohan Ramirez, and he’s been a catastrophe in 10. Yes, I know he’s a rule 5, and the Bosox are in the East. And their pitching is pretty thin, too. But they know they aren’t going anywhere in this division, and they might think getting a good return for a Free Rule 5 guy might be worthwhile.

      This draft unfolded weirdly.  First with the *nix guys getting taken early and then how no defensive players got taken all draft, and then a bunch of teams reaching for OTs.  I'm pretty happy with how the draft unfolded because I think we got a player that I expected to be gone by the teens or early 20s.  I don't know what we're doing with our OL but hopefully we can maybe trade up from 62 to pick someone up.
