I really like this decision. I for one get bored with all the HR's in baseball as a whole. I think you will see Oriole hitters worry less about launch angles and just try to hit the ball. Usually before the summer heats up balls didn't fly out as much in April and May. I suspect there could be some real low scoring games especially early in the season. Since gambling is now even such a bigger deal it will be interesting to see how it affects the totals for games in Camden Yards.

The Ravens have been competitive for the most part year after year where as we all know the Orioles have not. I prefer baseball but the NFL is the most popular sport by far. People will listen to the games on WBAL and switch back to listen to the talk shows talk about the Orioles. I am sure this is a business decision that WBAL offered to pay more than 105.7. Because the Orioles are on WBAL mostly in the evenings it isn't going to cause those people to turn on WBAL daytime political talk shows. Sports fans will still listen to 105.7 during the day if that is what they have been doing. As far as signals you can listen to any station anywhere on your smartphone.

I would certainly happy with Harrison for a 1 year deal. He may want some kind of option that would automatically vest based on games played which would be fine as you are waiting for Westberg, Henderson, and I would include Mayo who could come fast.

What do you want the employees of MASN or the local media say about the state of the Orioles they are not saying now? Do you want them to walk up to the players and ask them why do you suck? That is a rhetorical question. Because they are not being critical enough do us fans think they are better than they are really are? Both Ben McDonald and Jim Palmer, the regular color guys, say on a regular basis "you have to make better pitches". etc etc. They do have to see these players everyday and have some kind of working relationship. Being overly critical or confrontational isn't going to inform us any better. Their record is apparent to all of us. I just want to know what isn't being said that needs to be said and how that is going to help the Orioles get better faster. They don't draw many fans which is the direct result of them being bad.

I read somewhere that the plan was to limit him to 100 innings. After tonight he is at 98. Do they pull the plug for the season? I don't know what the right or wrong answer is to this either. I don't think they know for sure. I pretty much would think they wouldn't go more than 120 innings at the very most anyway.

This year we have seen a lot of bad baseball but in my opinion because of the lack of talent not lack of a good manager. I am not saying Brandon Hyde is a good manager yet because I need to see what he can do when he has enough good players. However, these guys don't quit on each other and I think that is a reflection on their manager. The pitchers he has had at his disposable to start games is enough to sink a team to 100 losses. The innings leader is Matt Harvey. That isn't his fault. I want to see what his managing record is when he has a major league 3B, SS, 2B, and C and a starting rotation of at three major league number 5 starters. I hope they announce his extension tomorrow after a fun win.

I keep looking at their box score and I have to adjust my reading glasses every time I see the score. This is more impressive doing this on the road against a good Carolina team. If a team with their low payroll is having cashflow problems then there are many teams with cash flow problems. I don't believe that for one second. Because of Covid they aren't generating the cash they were before but they are far from broke. MLB players are still getting big time contracts.

It tells you that player rep Chris Davis is very concerned about not getting paid next season. If not he just had to show up at spring training if they had one and receive his whole salary next year. Now he is 100% sure he will get it just over 3 years. He will have to adjust his spending budget but I am sure he will be fine.?

Chris Davis knew there is a decent possibility that there will be a strike/lockout and he might not get paid or would be paid less next season. I assume they reached some kind of settlement.

I don't think they are going to let him go more than 80 or so pitches anytime this season. They decided this right or wrong when they went into the season. Next season I am sure they will let them go more but coming off them not playing in games last year this is what they think is best.

You know that is probably the correct business decision but as a fan I don't give a hoot about service time. I want to see the best baseball players playing on the major league team. This is probably especially the correct decision given the fact that there is going to be a new CBA but again as a fan I don't care. I think the system is broken.

Severino leaves the game and could be headed to the IL. I guess they would bring up Cumberland and move Adley to AAA. Could they bring Adley up? Probably not but it is probably easy to say he is the better player in the minors by far.
