So glad I found this thread and so glad you put this quote in.

About 3-4 years ago my dad and I couldn't help but notice how many times Jim would mention "When I was 19" in some way shape or form during a whole season.

Hasn't happened in a while but I feel like he always used to drop Cal Sr's name when talking about the minor leagues. Good ol cakes, quite a treat to listen to.
