I loved how he talked about the minor league "inventory" being available to 1.) Be apart of the big league core AND 2.) Use to trade for other useful pieces to supplement said home grown core (Something we've done terribly, and IMO, been afraid to do).

He mentioned Earl Weaver alot. He made a comment that Earl Weavers book was required reading throughout the organization. Did he mean that he mandated that when he was with Boston, or that he was going to impliment it with the Orioles, or both?

Maybe he'll hoard cigarette coupons like Weaver to pay for some FA's (Earl said that's how he got Al Bumbry).
