If Fielder goes to M's, Reynolds/Smoak trade possible?

Sorry if it looked like I was implying that. I knew they aren't the same; let me rephrase: Even with a higher walk percentage, Smoak's OBP is still only .316--nothing to write home about or lord over Chris Davis.

Just throwing this out there, but if the Mariners don't get Fielder, isn't it possible that they still might have an interest in Reynolds? I'm not sure how Reynold's D at first compares to Fielder but they could theoretically still put Reynold's at first and sign Aramis Ramirez to play third.(for the fraction of the cost in $ and years it would take to sign Fielder). Feel free to cut this up.

Hah, I bet Chris Davis figured he was done battling Justin Smoak for a job. That would be a wonderful problem to have, though with our dearth of trade chips, I wouldn't be surprised to see Davis dealt in such a case.
