Or Avery, since "he's traveling" anyway. Why waste the travel? Traveling is good and keeps more folks from hating on Lew, just sayin'.... And oh btw - since the rain stopped last night and the game was played to a win with BRob starring, should we give some love back to Lew for not canceling the game, just axin'???? Dips?

Lew actually looks like a major leaguer in the few times I have watched him with Norfolk.

Somewhere on a lonely desert isle (well except for a jewelry/pina colada kiosk), SG is saying to himself, "Self (excerpt)......butt from the OH." ;)

Oh, did you also stay at a HI Express lately?

I didn't say now. I said any guy who does hit consistently over .350 will eventually get a look. What the time frame is for that largely depends on the need at the MLB level. If Pearce or Chavez go down with an injury, Lew is on his way to Baltimore.

Nope. I am not foolish enough to think that Lew Ford would make a long term meaningful contribution to this club over an extended time frame. I also NEVER tought Brian Roberts would go 3 for 4 with the Orioles this year.

There is no question that some pigs have been flying.

You calling me a fool then? 'cause I believe in my perfect Lew! :hearts:

He has done everything possible so far to get a call-up. If only it wasn't for those darn career stats...

I think it is getting to the point where it's about time to give him a chance to see what he can do. He's clearly beating up on AAA and belongs in a better league. Well, there's only one better league than the International League. It's not like his Major League numbers were always bad either. I think next chance we get, it's time. Given the way injuries have come in droves this year, I have a feeling we'll get that chance soon.

    • Not for someone who has money riding on him winning the award.
    • Well, now that we’ve established the hitting sucks, is it a good time to complain that this pitching is obviously over performing and will crash and burn any day now?
    • The bullpen has much more depth this year than last year but it just feels like you don’t know who will be the guy each night.  Last year it was get to the 8th and you knew it was Cano and Bautista and lights out.  This year it doesn’t seem to be set roles especially with Kimberly strugggles and out as clasper for now possibly.  I also think Hyde gets a lot of grief about how he handles the bullpen but I think he has been great at looking at the game situation and with who he wants facing what guys.  Cano might come in the 6th one night then close the next, same with Webb or even Coulumbe.  I know a lot of it is analytics but as a group they make a plan and seem to stick with it instead of some managers that have 7 inning guy an 8th inning guy and closer and don’t deviate much.
    • On the replay you can see that Julio was lightly jogging after the ball-- either assuming the RF would get it, or assuming Hays wouldn't run. Good on Hays for taking advantage and turning it into a double.
    • I think in general people are more negative in life not just in sports and they need to blame someone or something.  In previous years we had a scapegoat in Peter and John.  Elias didn’t go out and make a trade it was because he didn’t have the money to go get anyone or the owner didn’t want to spend.  Now for the most part people seem to think new ownership will give the ok to spend more so now if we don’t do it it is on Elias, Sig, and Hyde for not getting best out of the players.  We dint make a big trade last year and most people just went with well John is cheap we don’t do what they want now it will fall on Elias more then last year in peoples eyes imo.
    • Mike Baumann.  An enigma wrapped in a conundrum.  Ride the wave!
    • The Yankees have been extremely healthy on offense as well.  If that somehow happens all year they will be right there with us but if I was a betting man I don’t think Judge, Stanton, Rizzo can stay healthy all year and they have very little depth behind those guys.  Besides Adley we have guys at every other position that can fill in if someone goes down.  There might be a drop some but I don’t think it would be catastrophic like losing Judge or Soto.
