Logan Morrison (to Seattle?)

I think Johnson is a better deal than my originally proposed Patton. If I'm Florida, I'm getting a reliever with good K numbers who could still be a SP. For a platoon 1B.

Yeah, and Johnson would be under control for a longer period of time, so he might be more attractive to Miami.

I'm thinking Smoak might become available as well.

I'd support that. I suspect a team looking for a 1B (like Pittsburgh or Tampa Bay) would be more aggressive in trading for him though.

Morrison would be a nice grab for DH. Could be the kind of guy that Presley thrives on coaching. He has a good deal of unlocked offensive potential. Especially power.

Marlins are close to signing Jones. That just makes Morrison more available. Heck why not expand it and get Cishek. Something like Berry, Wright, and Britton/S.Johnson/Patton

Is there something that makes you think they are looking to move Cishek?

Has Miami indicated that they are looking to move Ceshek? That would certainly make letting Webb go despite a very reasonable projected arb figure look even stranger than it already does.

Cishek is a super 2 first time arb eligible. So he's projected by MLBTR at 3.2mm up from 550k. I might be willing to part with Ed Rod in a package for Cishek and Morrison.

I am not questioning Cishek's value. Heck yeah, I'd love to get him. What I am questioning is whether Miami is willing to trade him, and whether anyone has heard anything about them looking to move him.

Cishek probably isn't availabe but they do have Dunn and Ramos that could close. Valencia for Morrison would probably be a fair trade. Morrison has more upside and would play more regularly for us. Valencia is from Miami and they get a cheap 3B. He's never going to be more than just a RH DH for us.

A valid trade proposal. I'm not sure I would make it but I think that might definitely fly with them.
