Ugh. Baseball needs to learn from the NFL and disassociate from people who commit domestic violence.

So is Cruz still playing every day bc of the HR and RBI leads? I fully support it, letting players achieve milestones if it doesn't truly get in the way of anything, just wondering.

Yeah plus it's a contract year. He probably wants to put up as big of stats as he possibly can in order to garner as big of a contract as he can get.

This is these guys livelihoods after all.

I think they're playing with fire a little bit by not resting Pearce. Dude has a history of injuries. They need to be careful here.

I agree. Obviously Buck knows what he's doing, but it has been scary watching Steve basically flip over and have to brace himself hard with his hands/wrists the last 2 games. Broken wrist for Steve Pearce would be devastating.

Agreed. I thought they brought Walker up to rest Pearce, not to move him to the OF. it's probably just a matter if Buck not wanting to rest too many regulars at once and Pearce will get a few games off soon, once Markakis and Jones start getting back in.

Markakis has been unable to play.

They still had another option with Quintin Berry, but I'm sure Pearce doesn't want to come out of the lineup either. He's having a great year and is also in a contract year.

He will not be a free agent after this season, but he will be arbitration eligible. Generally when people say contract year they mean he will be a free agent.

Anyone else getting concerned that we haven't seen Nick since the clincher on Tuesday when he got drilled?

I did see him this morning at the Monica walk, an he looked fine, but still. I'm concerned.
