Cause and effect.

If Nick was still on base, McGowan would have been pitching from the stretch, and he may not have thrown the same pitch, and Cruz may not have had the same approach at the plate.

He (Cruz) may have homered, he may have doubled, or he may have struck out.

We'll never know.

Pretty sure it was a hit and run people. McGowan held the ball longer than normal.

I should point out I don't know why but I'm just stating I think it wasn't a straight steal.
