Brad Brach

Considering he has never started a game professionally, even in the minor leagues, you have nothing to worry about.

Yeah, at 30 years old and never having started a pro game, there's zero chance he's moved from the pen - even if he does have the perfect classic build that scouts look for in a starter.

Brach is a beast. The only reason more people don't know him is because he's not a FA. This dude would get a huge contract if this were his walk year. We have him through 2019. Our bullpen is just stacked,

Britton- All star

O'day- All star

Brach- should be an All star

Givens- Look at that k rate

Bundy- former uber prospect

Matusz- eh

Vanimal- beast swingman

DD is awesome at building a pen. It's his own version of moneyball. That's not even mentioning the guys in the minors.

(vs. ANGELS, 5/21)

1.33 shutout innings.

Entered the game with the bases loaded, 2 outs, and the Orioles trailing by a score of 1-0.

Got the desperately-needed 3rd out of the inning (Albert Pujols) without allowing any more runs to score.

Pitched an additional shutout inning to keep the Orioles in the game.

Retired 5 of the 6 batters that he faced on only 11 pitches (10 Strikes, 1 Ball.)

2016 ERA: OOll 1.16

2016 WHIP: Oo 0.857

What Brach has been doing so far this year is flat out crazy. His stuff was absolutely filthy last night.

I'd actually switch him with O'Day for 7th/8th inning duties for a bit, but that wouldn't be very popular. O'Day has had a rough go of it recently, starting with those back-to-back HRs vs the Tigers. Uncharacteristic of him for sure, but I'd probably make the switch for a week or two once he gets back from the DL. It's nice to have 4 high-caliber arms in the bullpen though. Makes missing one of them a tad easier to absorb.

All Star game?

If O'Day made it last year, you'd have to think Brach has a chance this year, if he keeps up with the gaudy statistics. You've got the same manager as last year picking the reserves, and you know he appreciates bullpen guys.
