I don't see Buck as a GM. Or at least a very good GM.

Let me rephrase that... we don't have much evidence that he has the traits necessary to be a good GM. He's a very good manager. It's not the same thing. We, as fans, have little to go on when speculating about someone filling a manager/GM/coach/scout job. There are a million plausible candidates and we try to infer from loosely related traits who'd be good, among the eight guys standing near us.

  Do you think other players actually know/care about that? Why would the union get upset, he's got a guaranteed contract, you aren't doing anything shady. As for the agent, it looks like he's got 5 clients. Not some powerhouse we have to deal with year in year out.

  At least they have basically stopped pitching him in winnable games. I don't really care if he takes up a roster spot as long as they limit the damage he can do.
