They were awful last season but they got completely wrecked by injuries.

I think the hope was that if healthy they could be competitive.

I would definitely give them Ubaldo and a portion of his salary in exchange for a 10-15 ranked prospect.

I'm guessing Gallo wouldn't be available unless a much more reliable arm was offered.

To be fair the article does address it but I don't think Darvish is the right guy to point out the usage issue with Japanese youths.
