McFarland on AAA-Norfolk Starts: “I Think I’m Better for It”

(By Roch Kubatko)

Seriously guys' date=' is there any hope he could make a few decent or even serviceable starts for Baltimore?[/quote']

Perhaps he and Worley can combine for a couple of 7 or 8 inning outings between the two of them to tide the rotation over until Gallardo comes back.

Worley for 4 innings, and McFarland for 4 innings.

OR

Worley for 4 innings, and McFarland for 3 innings.

Showalter recently said that he wanted AT LEAST 2 long-men in the bullpen, and preferably 3. I have said on numerous occasions that you can never have too many long-men in the bullpen. Long-men can pitch short, medium, or long, but short relievers can only pitch short.

And now with Mike Wright being called up again, that's probably another long-man in the bullpen.

Mac has been bounced around a lot this year. I would have like to have seen him just start in AAA all season but I like leading the division more. I could see him being here until O'day is ready to come back. Which could mean Mac is just here for the Ubaldo start tonight and gets optioned for O'day tomorrow.

Is there a corresponding move, or was this the 26 -> 25 move?

Tolliver sent down.

Believe it or not, he was asking that question in regard to McFarland's previous move, which was down to AAA-Norfolk just 2 days ago.
