I've got gameday up with the pitch track and it wasn't a strike. It didn't miss enough for that to be the most shocking call ever, though.

Why couldn't Hardy have scored there?

Early in the game, if there is any question as to whether or not he'll make it, don't send him.

At the very least, make the opposing pitcher continue to labor and make him EARN his 3 outs per inning.

Even if Paredes had not come through with the 2-RBI single like he did, it's not necessarily a wasted double by Machado (because as I just stated, we would at least be making Buehrle throw more pitches, and earn all of his outs.)

Most nights it's probably a strike but the ump had been pretty consistent about not calling anything off the plate.
