My guess, assuming no proven RFer is acquired, is that there will be open auditions for the job in ST, with Kim among those given a shot out there. If nobody measures up, we'll see Davis and Trumbo out there a fair amount -- not a very encouraging thought.

IIRC Nolan played mostly in RF in the minors

Don't sleep on the Rule V pick Joey Rickard. Played all 3 OF positions and pretty solid #s in the minors ; even improved as he ascended.

I don't think you can put Kim as a lead off guy yet.

First, as of now he is overweight. Second, he has not seen MLB level pitching. Third, Buck said he could be a bottom 3rd of the lineup hitter.

Trumbo and Kim are critical. I've written Hardy off offensively. Need the two new guys to produce, can't have another repeat of Travis Snider or 2015 Steve Pearce.

Obviously, it's far from ideal but I don't see any more money being invested in position players.

So given the choice of Hoes, Reimold or Rickard; I wouldn't mind seeing the new guy get a shot.

Rickard I'm pretty sure is the rotational 4th / defensive OF. He takes over Lough's role.

Let's put it this way, looking at his MiLB numbers, I'm intrigued. Also, optimistic that he's not waste of space and we have to try to hide him for 162 games. He actually could be useful.

Admittedly, I'm bullish on him but also, given the current OF situation, is Rickard really that far behind Reimold, Hoes, Alvarez or Hank?
