"One more thing about Schoop’s homer. It gave the Orioles five players with 25 or more longballs this year: Trumbo (47), Chris Davis (38), Manny Machado (36), Jones (29) and Schoop (25). According to Baseball-Reference.com, they are the 12th club in baseball history to do that."

Somebody pointed out that with Trumbo's winning the HR championship that the Orioles will have the ML leader in HRs for the fourth consecutive year...the first time one team has done this since Babe Ruth won it four times consecutively 1926-1929 and it has never been done by a team with three different individuals- Trumbo, Cruz, Davis (2). Another historic first for the Os!!

Postscript...Ralph Kiner did win or tie for the ML HR crown with the Pirates six times in a row, but never had four consecutive seasons with SOLE possession of the crown as he tied three seasons during that stretch from 1946-1952.
