My real issue with tonight...

Pinch hitting Reimold for Kim, when Mancini was available. Let Trey hack, and then put Reimold (preferably Stubbs) in LF.

Not walking Edwin in the 11th, base open, Bautista looked lost after his HR.

Lastly, the hate on Buck. People are calling for him to be fired? You realize this is the same man that took this team from the underground to lead the AL in wins for the past 5 years? 444 wins. This game isn't on Buck, it was a well played game by both teams, our offense just couldn't get a roll going.

Goodnight. See you at the winter meetings.

The real issue is the team wide hitting approach.

Agreed. Ironically, the pitching kept us there tonight, the offense sent us home. We couldn't string quality ABs together. It was a lot of hacking at first pitch sliders, instead of swinging at first pitch fastballs you can drive.

Buck's decision-making hastened the loss. Who cares about regular season wins if the manager actively contributes to losing efforts in the playoffs? And this isn't Buck's first time.

The Britton storyline throws a lot of shade, but I'm nearly as baffled by the Reimold over Stubbs pick for LF in the 11th.

In benching Alvarez for Bourn so Trumbo could DH, it seems the club had correctly recognized how much of a liability the OF defense was.

Stubbs was acquired for the same reason Bourn was, and however much he can't hit, he could have fielded a couple innings before Mancini perhaps hits for him next time through the order.

If he wasn't used to defend LF there, why was he on the playoff roster at all?
