Extend Gausman NOW!

Gausman signed for 3.45M in his first year of arbitration. That means he has 3 years of arbitration left as he's a super 2.  In 2018 you're looking at about 7M, 2019 11M, 2020 14M. Then if you wanted to buy out years of FA, you're probably talking 14-16M each assuming he stays at the level he's currently at. So if you were to make an offer to him today, you're probably looking at something like 3/30 with two club options and a possible total of 5/60 starting in 2018 and through 2022.

We should have done it with Machado and Tillman. Extend them as early as possible when their market is lower and they will be cheaper.

Tillman's market is currently at it's lowest.

Machado's only shot was when he was surgical. Though there are those rumors of a last minute break down on something since.

He faced an incredibly weak lineup against the Tigers.  Come on; this is a reaction thread.

Had the wind not been blowing in, he would have given up probably two homers to the DR.  Had that happened, we would have a "Cut Gausman NOW" thread or a "He came up too early" thread.

Let's see how at least the first half of the season goes.

And the Os tried to extend Machado right?  Do we know the numbers on the tables from both sides?

On a side note, Davis went 2-2 he should be leading off.

This is absurd. He had a 123 ERA+ last season and you think people would be complaining about him because of a single poor spring training start? Silly take.

Please there are more than a few people (not including the sarcasm of corn) who think Gausman isnt a winner.  Some people on this board overreact a ton!  So yes I do think that.
