Here is the package I'd want from the Indians.

Tristan Mackenzie - he'd immediately be our best pitching prospect.

Yandy Diaz - Immediate replacement for Hardy (with Manny moving to SS)

Shane Bieber - polished arm, with good curveball and amazing control, he's moving fast and could be ready next year.

Logan Ice - solid catcher prospect  with a good approach at the plate who has surprised by showing  more power this year

And get them to take O'Day too.

Mackenzie and Diaz would be great pulls.

Would you say we gave up nothing if we gave up Liranzo, Gassaway and Dietz for a rental reliever?

That is not really the comparision though.  It would be more along the lines of Liranzo, Means and Hess.

Would a Britton trade be potentially the biggest trade the O's have made since Bedard for Adam Jones and Tillman?

Or is it more like Koji for Davis and Tommy Hunter?

It would be the biggest since Bedard. Davis and Hunter wasn't considered much of a return at the time, of course it turned out really well for us.

I'd say closer to the Bedard deal. At the time, Bedard was a great SP. Koji was a solid BP arm, but nowhere near Britton's level. Hopefully, we can get an Adam Jones caliber player in a Britton deal.

Both?     We aren't going to get nearly the return we got for Bedard, but we should get a somewhat bigger return than the Koji trade, in terms of expected value at the time of the deal.

They aren't trading him, he's in the conversation for best prospect in baseball. I've watched him play a lot this year, he's the real deal.

He looked pretty good at Bowie yesterday, even if the results weren't stellar.

    • The outfield might be slick from all the rain. I think that can influence lineup decisions.
    • @Bahama O's Fanor a free trial of any streaming platform. YouTube TV, Directtv, etc.
    • I’ve been rending my garments over Adley and his struggles for months now. But I will say that it seems like a bit of an odd time to come together as a group on the notion of benching him — just as he’s been starting to show some signs of being Adley again.  Over the last week of the season, Adley had a 50% hard hit rate and an average EV of 89.9 MPH. Those numbers absolutely dwarf what he was doing for months, when he was sitting at more like a 26% HH rate and an 85 MPH EV. Anecdotally, I can’t even remember the last time we saw Adley drive a ball into the left-center gap like he did multiple times against MIN. That’s Adley at his very best, and it was a sight for sore eyes.  I’m not sold that he’s 100% back, and I would still stick with McCann catching Burnes tomorrow (especially since using Adley as the DH is viable with a LHP starter in Ragans). But I sincerely doubt we can run the table without at least a few stretches of Adley being Adley — so I think this recent spurt is probably enough to warrant sending him out there every day still, in hopes that he really is getting it locked back in.
    • Apparently, if you just waited to buy tickets, you could just basically go for free. Well done orioles.
    • Well, they likely would not have drafted an overslot SS with the second round pick if they had taken another HS SS first overall, so would you rather have Henderson and Rutschman or just Witt?
    • It’s my understanding that nationally televised games are usually blacked out. Consider a free trial subscription of Fubo if they are still offering it.
    • The Orioles starters absolutely have to do better against the Royals. You can't ask this bullpen to pitch most of the game and expect to win. Right now I probably trust Coulombe the most and Soto (which I never would have guessed a couple weeks back). Perez has been really shaky recently to the point I'm wondering is he nursing a tired arm or minor injuey. Cano hasn't been good as well and O's really need him to get back into a groove. And Akin is usually trustworthy, but only starting the inning clean.
